Everyday Make Up in 10 Minutes

I go through phases with my make up, and currently I’d say I’m fairly happy with my routine which for me is pretty impressive, so I thought I’d share it with you all! I like my sleep so I’ve tried to cut down the amount of time I spend on my make up in the morning as much as possible. So, please find below a quick ‘how to’ for everyday make up in 10 minutes. As you can see from the picture it’s a really natural look, meaning it’s pretty easy to recreate!

First, prepping your skin is so important to ensure you get a good base for your make up to sit. I don’t use a primer, but I do make sure to thoroughly moisture my face with my everyday moisturiser. Then, comes the most important part for me, the concealing. I cover any blemishes/red areas using a concealer, my favourite at the moment is Hide The Blemish by Rimmel. I then also use this as a base for my under eye area.

Following this, I apply Oil Free Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser using my fingers as I prefer to blend that way. I take Clinique Airbrush Concealer in Medium and apply under my eyes. To set this all using the real techniques powder brush I apply Mac Select Sheer/Pressed Powder in NC5 over all of my face. I’ll then gently define my cheekbones using the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Palette in Bronze.

To highlight, I dab 3 dots of Benefit High Beam under my eye area and then blend in. Moving onto my cheeks, I take The Multiple by Nars in Orgasm and apply to the apples of my cheeks. I then blend this out with a touch of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose Quartz using the Bobbi Brown Face Blending Brush.

Moving onto my eyes, I first focus on my brows. I fill in using the dark colour in the Focus & Fix Kit in Medium by Make Up Revolution. I then brush over to really tidy up using the Benefit Speed Brow Gel.

Using my finger I then sweep a layer of Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Sparkling Champagne over my eye lids and up to the brows. For my eyeliner I turn to my trusty Bobbi Brown Gel Eye Liner in Sepia Ink and create a simple flick at the outer corner of my eye. I follow with a coat of mascara in Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara in Black, and then another coat of Ultra Tech Curve Mascara by Kiko Cosmetics in Black.

Finally for my lips, I moisturise first using the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic Balm and then follow with the MAC Pro Longwear Lip Liner in Staunchly Stylish. I then apply a coat of Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour Lipstick in Neutral Rose for the final touch!

Writing it down it seems like a long process but I promise it really isn’t! I’ve done it half asleep before so it is almost like a foolproof guide to applying makeup.

Thanks for reading 🙂

MAC Lip Liner in Staunchly Stylish

Hello hello!

This will only be a short post this evening, but I had to share with you my new favourite lip liner that I recently discovered. I picked it up last week at the MAC counter when I was travelling through Milan airport. I was pretty overwhelmed with the products available, but after trying more than 10 different colours in various lipsticks and lip liners on my hand (getting to the airport early meant it got a little out of control…),  this lip liner in Staunchly Stylish kept catching my eye because of it’s deep and pretty nude colour.

It’s quite a neutral colour on and the finish is so moisturising and yet buildable that it looks really natural on. This particular colour is part of the pro longwear lip pencil range which is really obvious when wearing! It’s durable and gives a great finish, but then that’s no surprise from MAC!

I wear mine alone under lip balm to give a slightly more dewy effect on my lips, but it definitely gives enough nourishing coverage to be worn alone.

I’m starting to really invest in my lip liner collection so I’d love any suggestions you have!

Have a great Friday!

Another Day, Another Nude

I think this is my third post about nude nails, so if you hadn’t guessed already, I love them! So, as I’m back to work tomorrow and unfortunately won’t be allowed my bright coral nails, I’ve gone for another one of my trusty nudes.

This colour called Coleville Mews is from Nails Inc. Again, it’s one of those really easy colours to wear, and, being a great brand it lasts! Nails Inc products have been a favourite of mine for a while now, as they’re good quality and make my hands feel spoilt!

Neutral Nails

I was having a sort through my nail varnishes this weekend, and found a few older colours I haven’t worn for sometime. As I said in a recent post, once I’ve found a colour I like, I tend to stick to it and forget about the others. So, I’ve decided to show those feeling neglected a little love!

The colour I went with has gone slightly gloopy (as it hasn’t seen the light of day for a while), so it was a bit of a challenge painting my nails smoothly. But, by mixing it with a little bit of nail varnish remover, I managed to achieve a somewhat smooth finish!

I’ve chosen this neutral tone called Elegant, as I can’t have anything too bold with work, but actually it’s a great colour as it goes with everything!  I love Revlon nail varnishes too, as they’re long lasting, good quality, have a great range of colours and are a purse friendly price at around £6 (I bought mine a while ago, so can’t remember exactly!)

I think I’ll be taking a trip to Boots again soon to replenish my stock!

A Gorgeous Lip

One of my absolute favourite items in my make up bag is this lipstick by Chanel in Captivante, which is part of the Rouge Allure collection. It’s so moisturising and long lasting, that now I really can’t live without it!

It’s such a fab colour to take you from daytime through to the evening as it’s subtle, yet gives your lips a gorgeous nourished look that instantly makes you feel more glamorous! As you can see in the pictures, there’s a shimmer to the lipstick that gives added depth to the colour, but is not at all over powering!

This is the first lipstick that hasn’t dried out my lips whilst wearing it, plus I only reapply once throughout the day, which I think is great! I also love it against my pale skin, as the colour isn’t too bold.

For something that is easy to wear and lasts, I’d definitely recommend investing in this! I was dubious about the price tag of £26, but it’s pricey for a reason – because it’s so good!

(The photo quality isn’t great, but hopefully you get an idea of the colour!)

My Go To Nude

Apart from the red nail polish I posted recently, this nude is by far my favourite at the moment! It’s so easy to wear as it’s close to my natural nail colour, so really just acts as a base to neaten up my nails. I’ve worn it to all kinds of occasions from weddings to christenings to interviews as it’s so classic!

The colour is called Café Au Lait, and is from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure range, which I absolutely love as it’s so long lasting! To give an extra shine, I use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails for my topcoat.

This is also a great base to use for a French manicure or pedicure!
